A traditional German layered cake, that's now a favourite in Japan. The name Baumkuchen (tree cake) is inspired by the tree ring-like layers inside the cake. During the baking process, the dough is hooked onto a heated spindle and slowly rotated to ensure it bakes evenly and is then repeated multiple times to build up the layers that make up the Baumkuchen.

This Baumkuchen is made with sweet potato paste, baked to a soft fluffy texture, each bite offers a naturally sweet, comforting flavour. It can be enjoyed straight from the packet or sliced to share with friends.

Recommended serving: Lightly toast in a toaster oven for a slightly crisp exterior and enhanced aroma.
