A traditional German layered cake, that's now a favourite in Japan. The name Baumkuchen (tree cake) is inspired by the tree ring-like layers inside the cake. During the baking process, the dough is hooked onto a heated spindle and slowly rotated to ensure it bakes evenly and is then repeated multiple times to build up the layers that make up the Baumkuchen.

This Baumkuchen is made with banana puree that lends to the moist and soft texture of the cake for a sweet, natural flavour. It can be enjoyed straight from the packet or sliced to share with friends.

Recommended serving: Lightly toast in a toaster oven for a slightly crisp exterior and enhanced aroma.
Perfect with: Complement the sweet fruity flavour with a cup of coffee or tea for a delightful pairing.
